MOTUEKA.

(By Telegraph.) (Proni our own Correspondent, ) Motueka, October 18. Last evening Mr and Mrs Brougham"entertained a large number of friends at the new Post Office Hotel, when a very pleasant evening was spent. Opportunity wag taken to bid farewell to Mr Andrew Miller, who has disposed of his sash and door factory to Mr C. Stillwell. 3 Mr Albert I. Manoy presided over the gathering, and regret was expressed at Mr Miller's departure, and success was wished him in his new vonture in Nelson. Selections were played by the Motueka Orchestra, of which Mr Miller was the leader, and songs and reeifations were contributed. The health of the host and hostess were also drunk with enthusiasm. The Motueka flour mill, carried on for many years by Messrs Hewetson and Senior* together with a grain, wood and coal business connected therewith, has been purchased by Mr A. Manoy. At the Magistrate's Court today, before Messrs Trewavas and Rankin, Justices, judgment was given in the following cases:— Uren and Co. r. T. G. Low, £10 7s 6d and costs £1 103 6d; Dr Deck v. F. W. H. Rosenberg, £2 2s and costs 16s; H. O. Holdaway v. R. Reay, £17 13s 6d and costs £1 10s Gd. Mr L. D. Easton appeared for plaintiffs in each case.
