Jones, but, though all were successful in causing a great deal of laughter no rider was able to earn the guinea. ,j The grand finale was the "Darktown Fire Brigade tableau, where a fairly substantial building was fired and a company of the Nelson Fire Brigade in masquerade costume gave an exhibition of life saving and fire, extinguishing that was both comio and convincing. MrM. E. Hounsell very efficiently superintended the general proceedings. The net proceeds will be equally divided between the Citizens' Band and the Fito Brgade, the latter body placing the sum in their general benevolent fund.
