MAIL STEAMER ASHORE.
Received September 18, 11.35 p.m London, September 18.
The Pacific Mail Company's s.s. Mongolia, from Hongkong, is ashore at Midway Island, Pacific. Her hull is pierced and her bow is resting on tbe rocks. The passengers have landed, and her cargo is being discharged. The accident was due to tidal phenomena. The value of her cargo far exceeds that of the steamer.
The Manchuria has been refloated at a cost of two hundred sterling.
