EGG LAYING COMPETITION.
CANTERBURY. Christcburch, August 27. For the week ending August 24th 857 eggs were laid by the hens in the Utility Poultry Club's second egg laying competition at Lincoln College. The highest for the week were F. O'Brien, silver wyandottes, 27; Allan Petrie, silver wyandottes, ?3. J. Ashton, silver wyandottes, 23; The best totals to date are, J. Ashton, silver wyandottes, 2G9; M. Blanch, silver wyandottes, 261 ; F. O tSrien, silver wyandottes, 229.
