ANOTHER ASSASSINATION.

Received August 27, 9.10 p.m. St. Petersburg, August 27. Yesterday, General Minn, the Commander of the Sernenoffsky Regiment, who was so conspicuous in suppressing the Moscow insurrection, was assassinated at Peterhof. Last night a plot was discovered at Tiflis against the life of the Viceroy, and many, including some officers, have been arrested. The Czar telegraphed to M. Stoly-' pin: — "I cannot find words to express my indignation. I hope with all my heart that the health of your son and daughter may soon be restored, and equally that your other injured daughter is still alive." General Minn and his family were on the railway platform, when a young lady advanced, and shot him in the back with a revolver before his wife was able to seize her hand. The assailant, when arrested, pointed to a bomb lying near, telling the police to beware. London, August 27. Reuter's St. Petersburg correspondent reports that the feeling here is rather one of sentimental regret than of moral abhorrence at the crime. The public seems to tacitly recognise the existence of civil war, with, bayonets and Maxims on one side, 'and bombs and revolver on the other. The majority of the newspaperaconsider that the outrages are the 'outcome of the exclusion of general society from the Government, and many emphasise the impotence of the regime of repression.
