REPATEIATION OF CHINESE FAVORED. Johannesburg, August 26. The Johannesburg Progressive Association meeting at Forasburg collapsed owing to the opposition of 2000 people, mostly miners. Mr Shadwell, a member of the Miners' Association, then took the chair, and the meeti ng;f resolved, at the instance of Mr R. Outhwaite, in favor of the repatriation of Chinese when the

present contracts terminate. Tbe meeting r loudly cheered the Boers. "The Daily" Chronicle" repor.s that the Mine Owners' is recruiting thousands! of natives weekly? from sources other than the Robinson group. The Native Labor Association now permits individual recruiting by miners anywhere except in the Transvaal and Portuguese territory.
