TRAMWAY TROUBLE IN SYDNEY.
Received July 21, 0.53 a.m
Sydney, July 20. Amongst the statements made by the disaffected tramway men was one that the Westinghouse-Newell magnetic brake was unreliable. The Railway Commissioners appointed a Board of Experts including the leading tramway officials of other States and Professor Pollock, of the Sydney University, and the Board, after, examining a large number of wifcneeses, and testing the equipment, unanimously report that they are entirely favorable to the brake. They declare that it is prompt and efficient in action, and powerful for emergency stops.
