MR CRICKS' POSITION. j 'IMPORTANT RULING. Received July 12, 0.57 a.m. Sydney, July 11. j The Premier iiioved that the House proceod to deal with the Lands Commission's findings of misconduct ' against Mr Crick when the latter J took his stand on the authority of May. who states that where criminal or cicil proceedings were pending | he matter should not be dealt witn by the House, either by motion ot otherwise. The Attorney-General said there was no precedent to guide the speaker. There was no case of criminal trial pending when the" House dealt with the report. There had been cases where members had been expelled by a vote of Parliament and subsequently tried by direction of Parliament for a criminal offence. He admitted that such action must have created great prejudice against the person on trial. , The present matter was one peculiarly for the Speaker to decide. The Speaker ruled the motion out of order.
