FIRE AT AUCKLAND.

Auckland, July 10. A Fire broke out in a four roomed house of which two rooms downstairs, and a spall room attached at the rear, with their contents, were destroyed by fire, and the contents of the two rooms up stairs were damaged by water. Mrs Funnell left the house in the morning to look for a more suitable residence, and left a child in the house until she returned. The unfortunate boy had a narrow escape for his life. Two neighbors smashed open a doov on the alarm being given, and found the child almost suffocated, but after being in the fresh air for some time he recovered. How the fire occurred is not kno«vn. j
