At a meeting of New Zealand resi- i dents of Sydney, Mr Jackson presid- f ing, the following resolutions, for submission to the Acting Premier and Mrs Seddon were carried : — "We, Now Zeaiandere id Sydney, desire to place a permanent record of our; sense at the deep porsonal 1033 by the death of Mr Seddon : our profound sorrow for and sympathy with Mrs Seddon and members of the family in inexpressibly sad bereavement: our desire to unite with the rulers people in fNew Zealand in j mourning tbe great hearted Premier, j to whom love of home, country, and Empire was a consuming passion;) and our thankfulness for the oppor- ; tun icy so recently vouchsafed to us j of an alfectionate intercourse with j our late friend and his dear wife and j those members of his family whn ; accompanied him on his triumphal ' visit to our adopted country.
