MESSAGE FROM NEW ZEALANDERS IN SYDNEY.

Received June 13, 9.^8 p.m. Sydney, June 13. At a meeting of New Zealand resi- i dents of Sydney, Mr Jackson presid- f ing, the following resolutions, for submission to the Acting Premier and Mrs Seddon were carried : — "We, Now Zeaiandere id Sydney, desire to place a permanent record of our; sense at the deep porsonal 1033 by the death of Mr Seddon : our profound sorrow for and sympathy with Mrs Seddon and members of the family in inexpressibly sad bereavement: our desire to unite with the rulers people in fNew Zealand in j mourning tbe great hearted Premier, j to whom love of home, country, and Empire was a consuming passion;) and our thankfulness for the oppor- ; tun icy so recently vouchsafed to us j of an alfectionate intercourse with j our late friend and his dear wife and j those members of his family whn ; accompanied him on his triumphal ' visit to our adopted country. " j The resolutions are to be engrossed J and signed by New Zealanders before; being sent to Mrs Seddon. I The meeting also resolved to re- ; quest Mr Kennedy, of the l/nion j Company, to represent them at the , funeral, and co place, a wreath on; the coffin with the inscription— , 'With loving sympathy from New , Zealanders in Sydney." ; Brisbane, Juno 1.?. The New Zealand residents bore : have forwarded a message of svm . pathy to Mrs Seddon. ; Sydney, June 1;>. j The Labor Council has passed a; minute recording its sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr Seddon. The minute -states that the laws Mr Seddon placed oq the Statute Book should form an imperishable monument to one of the greatest leaders democarcy had ever .known. | Tho Council of the Prohibition j Party has also sent .% message of j condolence. __ _ r _ \ Received June IS, 1 fi.m.
