An interesting three rink match was played on the Nelson green on Saturday afternoon, when the "Colonials" met 'The World," and suffered defeat. The game was a close one. When rinks No. 2 and No. 3 had finished "The World" had a lead of five points only, and the score at No. 1 was "World" 14, "Colonials" 13, with two heads to play. "The World" scored on both heads, and increased the lead to twelve points. The following are the scores: — ' ' THE WORLD. • ' COLONIALS. ' ' Littlejohn Kerr Topliss A. H. On Saturday afternoon, at the conclusion of the play on the Nelson green, the players assembled, and the President of the Club (Mr W. Moyes )alluded to the fact that Capt. S. Trask had played his last match on the green prior to his departure for Dunedin. He alluded to the good qualities possessed by Captain Trask and his prowess as a bowler, and wished him all prosperity in his new sphere of labor. Dr. Hamilton (Vice-President) in a few words suplemented the good wishes expressed by the President, and three cheers were given for Captain Trask, who suitably acknowledged the remarks of the speakers and the expressions of good will by bowlers assembled. Captain Trask gained the championship last season, 1905, and the Club loses one of its best and most consistent players in him.
