T K Sir Joseph Ward, PostmasterGeneral of New Zealand, had a long interview with Mr Deakin, the Federal Premier, on questions of the Vancouver and San Francicso mail services and reciprocal trade relations between New Zealand and j Australia. j The Tobaoco Monopoly Commission, it ia understood, has decided by four to one to recommend the nationalisation of the industry. Ie ig considered that the State could make an enormous revenue out of the monopoly. The Commission came to the conclusion that a strong combine was in existence, to the detriment of both consumers and producers. Adelaide, February 20.
