He then went tosthe Quill^ bone Staton, and shot dead the owner, Patrick Veech, whose cattle Lorie was accused of stealing. Lorie is still at large. Melbourne, Septmber ±1. Constable Scannell, stationed at Sandringham, has murdered his wife and three children, He battered their heads with a pickaxe, and shot them with a revolver, and then shot himslf dead. He was brooding over imaginary troubles.
