Sir Joseph Ward was in tuwn today, but. received no public deputations. He was interviewed by the members of Parliament on matters of local importance. He informed Mr Ell, M.if.R., that instructions have been given to reduce the hours of the railway crossing-keepers, here from 54 per week to 455. Sir JO3eph also informed Mr Ell that instructions wouid be given for the pubiica tiob by the Government of the Municipal Year Book, the first issue of which was published two years ago. It is intended to publish the Year Book every two years.
