A NAVAL ENGAGEMENT.
i TWO TORPEDOERS SUNK. ; Received March 13, 9.46 a.m. ~* Admiral'Marakoff telegraphs that six torpedoers left Port Arthur at three o'clock on the morning of Thursday, and encountered the Japanese torpedoers and cruisers. A i hot] action ensued. The torpedoer j Vlastine dischaged a Whitehead tor-
pedo and sank a Japanese torpedoer. j On her way back to Port Arthur the torpedoer Stereguschtehui damaged ! her engine, and began to founder. Noticing her critical position, I hoisted my flag on the Novik, and went with the Novik and began to 1 rescue those on board, but five of the enemy's cruisers surrounding the Steregusehtehui, and battleships approaching, I did not succeed. Tne Steregusehtehui foundered, and part of the crew were captured and part wounded. Four Bussian officers were wounded, while two soldiers were killed and eighteen wounded.
