STOCK ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Stoke Road Board was held on Saturday last. Present— Messrs W. Coleman (chairman), Allport, Chisnall, John Best, J. E. Bartlett, and H. Lankow. The minutes were confirmed, and the Overseer's report adopted. The Overseer in his report stated that road had been pared and gravelling done, also culvert put in at Palmer's corner ; a culvert put in at Charles Stratford's ; sides of the road from the main road to Buxtons Stoke, had been ploughed, and the watertabling on the north side required clearing, from the main road to the railway line; residents on the railway road complained of a drain from Mr Osborne's. He recommended that ruts be raked in on Clover road, also that the members of the Board should visit Aniseed Valley in a body, and inspect the bridges, one of which had fallen in, leaving a dangeros crossing. It was resolved that the Board meet in the evening in Feburary, also to hold a special meetirig on Monday, 11th Janary, to pass special order re Parker's road, Stoke. Resovled to reply to the yaluerGeneral that the Road District will contine to be divided into the wardE of Hope, Stoke, and Appleby. Resolved, that twopence per dozer be paid for birds' eggs and heads. Resolved to leave the matter of re pairs of Quarantine road in the hands of the Overseer, and the mem bers for the district. Resolved to proceed to Aniseec Valley, Tuesday, sth January. Accounts amounting to £18 15e were passed for payment.
