THE BIRDS NUISANCE ACT, 1902.

CONFERENCE OF LOCAL BODY

REPRESENTATIVES

In accordance with the provisions of "The Birds Nuisance Act, 1902," a conference of delegates from the local bodies gazetted by Order-in-Council was held on Saturday morning for the purpose of deciding on j aud recommending to the Governor a suitable day on which the work of destroying injurious birds in the Nelson district should commence, and aldo the methods that should be employed by each local authority in carrying out the work within^ its own jurisdiction. The Nelson district referred to consists of Nelson City, Waimea and Collingwood Counties, and Richmond and Motueka Boroughs, and delegates were required from*Nelson City, Richmond and Motueka Boroughs, and Waimea and Collingwood County Councils. The Mayors of Nelson and Richmond (Messrs Baigent and Croucher) and the Chairman of the Waimea

County Council (Mr P. Best) were tne only delegates in attendance.
