! The'remains^of the lad "William Wilson were buried at £,the public cemefcery^on the Orphanage! grounds at Stoke" yesterday ,&the Rev. Father George Mahoney officiating. Mr R. H. Pope, of the Education* Depart- [ ment, attended the funeral, and the boys were drawn up in lines,between which'the little procession passed on its way. During' Saturday, Mr Pope, as the Education Department representative, inspected all the boys, and the temporary accommodation provided, and expressed himself as very pleased at what had been done. He took the opportunity of thanking and complimenting the staff upon their conduct at the time of and since the fire. Preparations are already in process for obtaining estimates for a new building to be of brick, and of one story only. The Eev. Father George Mahoney desires to thank the following addi-

We learn that the staff of the School, while very grateful for the kinc motive, are not willing that thf proceeds cf the military tournameni proposed for the 3rd June shall hi devoted to recoup their personal fosses, but would be greatly pleased if such were devoted to the rebuilding fund Mr and Mrs S. J. Newport, of Upper Motupiko, have forwarded tc this office £2 for the benefit of the boys at the Stoke Orphanage. The amount has been placed in tho hands of the Rev. Father George Mahoney.
