Shocking Death.
I Invercakgill, March 3. j At the inquest on the < body of Henry Smith, engine driver, who was killad in a flaxmill ac Waimahaka,, it was shown that, loosely clothed, he was shifting a belt when his clothing was caught, and he was whirled round, his feet strikng the joists with such force as to displace them. He was thrown from the shaft stripped to the socks, and died soon after. A verdict of accidental death was returned. Deceased had been warned against wearing loose clothing.
