The Tempebatube. —At three o'clock this morning the thermometer outside this office registered 40^degrees Social..— A united social will be held to-night at the Rechabite Hall in connection with the Rechabite and Good Templar Orders. The District Deputy of the 1.0. G.T. will preside, and the Rev. W. J. Williams will deliver an address for the Templars,- and Brother J. J. Franklyn will represeut the Rechabite Order. A programme of singing and music will be rendered. The refreshment department has been entrusted to the sisters of the respective Orders. The members, and friends are looking forward to a very pleasant rennion to celebrate their twenty-eighth anniversary.

Nelson Jockey Club.— At a meeting of the Programme Committee of the Nelson Jockey Club, held on Saturday evening last, the following programme was fixed for the club's annual meeting, to be held on Wednesday and Thursday, April lst>nd 2nd, 1903. First day— First Hurdle Handicap (open), £40; County Hack Handicap, £25; Nelson Cup, £100; Harness Trot, £35 ; District Hack Handicap, £25 ; Grand Stand Handicap, £40; Hope Hack Handicap, £25. Second day— Second Hurdles (open), £35 ; Welter Hack Handicap, £25 ; Eichmond Park Stakes. £75 ; Saddle Trot, £25 ; Waimea Handicap, £45 ; Stoke Hack Handicap, £25; Fare-i well Handicap, £30.
