The Manchester "Unity Oddfellows' Conference was opened this morning. Mr John Smith (Wellington) was chosen President, and Mr McLeod (Auckland) Secretary. The business of the Conference is the consideration of a motion by Mr McLeod in favor of electing a moveable committee and board of directors.

The Oddfellows' Conference resolved that the first meeting of the Biennial Moveable Committee be held at Wellington on April 17th, and a Provisional Committee of five was set up to draft rules for submission to the meeting. The representation for each district at the first meeting of the Committee will be one delegate for 500 members, and one delegate for every additional five hundred.
