THE SHAH OF PERSIA.
News has jusfc reached- here that the Shah is suffering from consumption of the kidneys, and will never more be able to leave his kingdom. He had been ordered by his physicians to go to Contrexeville for the cure, but it is now too late for him to undertake such a journey, and it is even said that the end cannot be far off. His successor is a youth of 19, who is already under the influence of Russia, and it is said that the Shah's death will be the signal for a Russian coup in Persia, involving the whole territory of that kingdom, right down to the Persian Gulf.
