He had been ordered by his physicians to go to Contrexeville for the cure, but it is now too late for him to undertake such a journey, and it is even said that the end cannot be far off. His successor is a youth of 19, who is already under the influence of Russia, and it is said that the Shah's death will be the signal for a Russian coup in Persia, involving the whole territory of that kingdom, right down to the Persian Gulf.
