Escape and Capture of a Prisoner.
Wellington, April 14. A prisoner named John Clancy, who was undergoing a sentence of twelve months imprisonment for assault, escaped from custody at Point Halswell fortifications to- J day. He obtained possession of an Artillery 1 man's uniform and bolted in this change of costame. He was caught after being about a couple of hours at large, and has been sentenced to six months' imprisoment.
