MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
YESTERDAY. [Before Mr H. W. Robikson, S.M.] Knigge versus Knigge-a claim for £20 10s 6d, damages for an assault alleged to have been committed on Sunday evening,' July 29th. Mr Harley appeared for the plaintiff (Hermon Knigge), and Mr Maginnity for the defendant (Charles' August Knigge), the two parties being brothers. After hearing an amount of evidence, the Bench said there was an extraordinary conflict of evidence, but the weight was in favor of the defendant, for whom judgment was given, with £2 Ss costs. - ' Charles White versus Richard Thomas, cab proprietor (by his committee, Robert Watson and Peter John Dickson— a claim for £39 Is Id, with £1 5s 6d costs, total £40 6s 7d. The defendants had paid into Court £16 8s 7d, with £1 os 6d costs, total £17 13s 7d, and in addition put in a counter claim of £22 12s 6d, making together £40 6s Id, the amount of the claim. Mr Harley appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Maginnity for the defendants. Judgment was given for plaintiff for £30 14s lay with oqsts £6, less £17 13s 7d paid into Court, leaving a balance of £19 0s 6d, half to be paid in two months, and the remainder in four months.
