THE FRENCH OFFENSIVE.
Speech by Mr Chamberlain.
A Warning.
London, December 1.
Mr Chamberlain, speaking at Leicester, scathingly denouncejfthg. French attacks on the (^ueen, and hinted that serious consequences would follow if they were persisted in. He said that every Briton must feel grateful to Lord Salisbury, for it was due to him that foreign relations had steadily improved resulting in an unwritten alliance or understanding between Great Britain, America and Germany. The united interests and sentiments of these three Powers would prove a mightier influence for peace than any number of armies.
