Nelson Cbicket Association*. — The annual meeting of delegates to this Association will be held in the Council Chamber at half-past seven this evening, and it is particularly requested that all delegates should attend punctually. Entries for the senior, junior, and third-class championships will be received, and all entries must be accompanied for the necessary fee. MARLBORouaH Eacing Club.— We were in error in stating that nominations for the Marlborough Raciqg Club's Spring Meeting close to-day. The nominations close with Mr Griffiths, the Secretary, on Saturday next, Bth October, at nine o'clock p.m. The Onion Case — Another Appeal. — We learn that Messrs Satherley and Millard, respondents in the appeal case heard in the District Court on Monday last, intend, ! through their solicitor (Mr Harley), to appeal against the decision of Judge Robinson, who reversed the Magistrate's judgment. The appeal will be set down for hearing at the next Supreme Court sittings, in November. Church Services. — Notifications appear in another column as to to-morrow's services at St. John's Wesleyan Church, Trinity Presbyterian Church, and the Christian's Meeting House, Waimea street. Marine BATH 3. — Mr J. Butler, lessee, notifies the re-opening of the Marine Baths. It will be observed that special terms may be arranged for families and schools. Portraits in the Council Crambeb. — In the Council Chamber last night a fine portrait of Mr John Tinline, whose liberality has provided for placing a coping with stanchions and chains along the Bocks road wall, was placed in front of the Mayor's seat. A group of individual portraits of the Mayor and all the Councillors who served last year was also placed in the Chamber. Oddfellows' Widows and Orphans Fund. — At the quarterly meeting of the Managing Committee of Oddfellows, Manchester Unity, held this week, the sum of £79 19s 9d was voted to the Widows and Orphans Fund. In these days, when there is so much dependence on State aid, discussion about old-age pension schemes, &c, it is very gratifying to find one Society able to do so much in one quarter of a year. It speaks well for the forethought and prudence of the members of this Society; Mrs Chant notifies that she has returned from Melbourne and resumed business, also that she will give lessons in dress-cutting. To day, at 11 o'clock, Messrs Bisley Bros. & Co. will sell by public auction furniture, bicycles, tea, horse, sundries, etc. ; also, that freehold property, with brick dwelling, situated Upper collingwood street, practically without reserve. Cricket. — The Nelson and College clubs will play a game this afternoon, and the United team are requested to roll up for practice.
