Railway Extension.

Blenheim to Starborough.

Wellington, August 22.

The Public Works Department has received instructions to proceed at once with the construction of the railway between Blenheim and the Awatere, a distance of about 15 miles. The work is to be carried out on the co-operative principle, under^the supervision of Mr S. J. Harding, at present assistant engineer for the Public Works Department at Hunterville. The terminus will be about the centre of the Starborough estate recently purchased by the Government for close settlement.
