The Inquest.
(Per United Press Association;) Wellington, June 27. At the inqiiest on the victim's of thd Midhirst tragedy, the evidence showed tHtit the girl and her fiather had not agreed well of late, and that frequent quarrels took place. Handcock had been ill for some time, and had been peculiar in his manner several times, saying he thought he would go mad. The jury returned a verdict that the deceased, Maria Jane Handcock, met her death through wounds inflicted by her father, while temporarily insane, and that Humphrey Handcock committed suicide while temporarily of unsound mind.
