REPRESENTATIVE FOOTBALL MATCH.
WANGANUI V. NELSON.
This match, which takes place at Trafalgar Park to-morrow, is causing unusual interest, it being fifteen years since a representative team from Wanganui has visited Nelson. In the Wanganui team are two players who were selected for the New Zealand team, namely Blair and Mac Donald, the great forward and threequarter of the province respectively. The team is quite ! up to date in its methods of the game, and those of our representatives who journeyed there two years ago speak highly of their all round work. No doubt they will give a good exhibition to-morrow. The Nelson team is a very good combination, the backs especially being of the smart and serviceable class. The visiting team will arrive in the s.s. Manaroa about one o'clock to-day or shortly after, the boat having been specially chartered for the occasion. At the visitors' own request, the Secretary of the Nelson. Union has arranged accommodation for* them at Mrs Martin Lightband's private boarding residence, Maitai Bank. With fine weather there should be a large attendance to witness the game, which commences j punctually at half -past two, thus*allowing country visitors time to catch the train. The charge for admission i« one shilling for gentlemen, and sixpence for ladies.
