Swimming Contest.
CtiRisTCHUitCH, February 2G. , The Australasian Biennial Swimming * Champion Meeting at the Lancaster Park c Baths took place to-day, when there was a large attendance. The results of the principal events were: — 1 440 Yards: Percy Cavell (Sydney) 1, F. L C. Lane (Sydney) 2, H. Rich (Lyttelton) 3. Sydney Cavell and A. B. Truscott also I started, but retired. P. Cavell won easily I by 26 yards, Lane being the same distance r before Rich. Time, Omins 32 2-^ecs. ' The following won their heats in the Australasian Championship : A. B. Truscott i (Richmond), F. C. Lane (Sydney), Sydney Cavell (Sydney), C. A. Madden (Sydney). Percy Cavell did not start. Sydney Cavell won his heat in 69 3-ssecs.
