When passing the Queen's Gardens the horse swerved from some o:use, and the unfortunate girl was thrown oot, and was evidently considerably hurt about the head. She was carried into Mr Kirkpatrick's reßidenoe, and Dr Leggatt was hastily summoned, hot the doctor having ascertained the extent of the injuries reoeived ordered that the girl Bhould bs sent to tbe Hospital. Captain Russell's Speech.— ln the hurry of getting to press on Saturday morning, some typographical errors occurred in the lengthy report given in tbe Colonist of Captain Bussell's meeting at the Theatre Boyal, on Friday night. By the transposition of a line and an omission, tbe remarks of the proposer and seconder of the vote of thanks were mixed up. Mr Cook said he was not there to deliver a political speeoh but to propose a vote of thank* to Captain Bussell for tbe courtesy and kindness with whioh he had oome to them, to lead them to a more intelligent interest in the welfare of the Oolony. He had clearly shown them tbat they would be well with honest administrators rather than astute politicions. It was a decided advan' aga that they should get the leaders of both sides to oome to them and give them their views, and they ehould feel indebted. He therefore moved a very hearty vote of thanks to Captain Bus;e*l. (Applause.) Mr J. A. Harley in seconding the motion, said he concnrred with the remarks of Mr Ocok. Iney had now heard both leaders, and Captain Bussell's speeoh had been a telling one against Mr Seddon, but an opportunity might occur when Mr Seddon would reply. Both for bis oourtesy and luoid expressions Oaptain Bussell deserved their thank?, (Applause.) The motion was put and carried unanimously.
