SHOOTING MATCH.
NAVAL ARTILLERY V. WAIMEA RIFLES. A bifle match took place on the Mudflat range on Satarday afternoon, between teams of ten men a -side from the abovenamed dorps. Two ranges were fired at, instead of three, tbe time being too short to fire a three range matoh. The Waimeas oame down with a big record, and as was anticipated, won oomfortably by 34 points. Tbe shooting at 200 yards was very fair, but at 500 yards it wai deoidedly off. The Naval team oomnriaad four first class Bhota and six second clasc shots, and considering they have not praotised for six months, their performance is very fair. Ligbt refreshments wre provided by the Navals during the afternoon* Apnended are the soores ; —
