Libel Case.
Christohubch, September 38. At the Supreme Court to-day, the defendant's solicitor in the libel actios of Worthing ton v. Hornsby applied for a postpontment of the trial, oa the ground that be wished to obtain a Oommission to tke evidence in Amerioa, and had requested tha United States Consul at Auokland to furnish him with the names of some gentlemen in Obioago to whom a commission could issue, and of some respeotable Arm oi lawyers tbera whom be oould ask to oonduot the enquiry on behalf of tbe defendant. The applica ion was adjourned to Tuesday week ta allow of tbe reoeipt of a reply from tha coobul, his Honor iotimating that he thought it reasonable tbat the defendant Bhould be allowed an opportunity of obtaining evidenoe in America.
