A Dying Man Left by the Roadside.
Ujlpieb, September 23. The steamer, Australia, whioh oalled in at Mercury Bay on her Way from Auckland, brings news of a curious affair. A party of men were drinking at Mercury Bay about a week ago, and left for their work in (he country. One named Julius Anderson, a German, seeme'i ill, and was left on aside track by his companions, about nine miles out. One of them returning five days afterwards, -■ -found him dead where he was left. The result of the inquest was not known when the Australia left.
