CANTERBURY MARKETS. Chbistohceoh, Jone 16. In wheat the feeling at present ia one of qnlitnesß, although prioee have not varied. Farmers,' as a rale» decline to sell unless full prioee are paid. Of late the principal attention has been paid to oats, which day by day have hardened in value. Offerings ere bo limited that orders for immediate execution have been foroed on store parcels, and this has gradually led to the better feeling. The higher rates rnljng in Southland have a'so been a considerable factor in- bringing about tbe increased prioee. Oats jast now m&j be said to have supplanted in inter* et the business in wheat. Barley ehowe no change either for mill or feed quality. Totatoes are still quoted at 25b at country stations, tkough 27s 6d is asked in many oa?f B. The rise in butter which we predioted m one of our reports reoently, has come about. The * intelligence from Sydney baß influenced the market looally. The factories now quote Is while dairy may be stated at 9d. Peas.— Proasian Blues 2$ 4d to 2b 56, Partridge 2b 3d to 2s 4d. Ryecorn.— Nominal 7 Is 9d to 2s. Flour,— Millers quote roller £9, stone £3 10s, eharps £4, bran £2 10s. Oatmeal £8 to £8 5c Potatoes are quoted at 25s at country Stations ; later delivery 80s. Clover.— Extra ohofoa 6|d to 6£d. Grass Seed,— Ryegrass, farmers' lots, 2» 9d to 3s 6d ; maobine-dresßed 3s Cd to 3a Bd, heavy weight 4s to 4s 9d. Cocksfooot BJd to 3|d, town maohine-dreesed 4d to 4Jd, extra 4|d.
