BUTTER PACKING.
Svdkey, January 16. With refereno9 to tbe Snvell process of packing butter the savirg m freight is not so much as appears at first sight. Tho butter is placed in square case., then put into kegs, so tbat there is a clear space on all side?, and tbtse s<ac s are fill- d with brine. Owing to rot .ndity the kegs take up much moro room, in addition to which they are only partially filled with butter. Experts consider that at the out ide t-'e process will not save more than 4s 3d per hundredweight, and even this amount will probably be eaten up by the cost of kegs, which will be more than for ordtetary butter tox.s.
