MATOH,
The match between teams representing the South Canterbury and Nelson Rugby Unions will take plaoe at Trafalgar Park this afternoon, and with fiae weather there should be a very lerge number of people present. Last year the Botlth Canterbury Union created a very favorable impreasi >n in re^ mainlng fait b fill to the New Zealand Rugby Union, in spite of the protestations of the Canterbury Union, with whom they baa a long-standing tnnaal engagement. The result of their layal'.y lo ? t them a very important matob, which was looked upon as one of the events of the season. As a recompense for this hardship, which tbe South Canterbury footbillers felt very much, it was deoided to make a tour during tbe then next season, and as the result of snooessful negotiations, Nelson was inolnded in the list of matches. A tour always means considerable expense, and the various Unions with whom matohes have been arranged have promisbed South Canterbury valuable pecuniary assistance, and it is hope! to-day's match will be liberally patronized. It almost goes without saving that the match will be a most interesting oae, &s the visitors are a very formidable combination, and the local team, although not actually the best, ia very strong, both forward and back. The visitors arrived early this morning by tho Mahinapua, and leave soon after the matob for Auokland. They are looated at the Panama Hotel, and are under the management of Mr Lightfoot.
Tbe Press Association has supplied the following, which will be cf interest, and also the names and weights of the visitors :—

M
A few alterations have taken place in the Kelson team. Snow being unable to take his place bs half, has been replaced by Levlen, while Nesbitt has stated his intention not to play full-baolc, and the vacancy ia supp ied by G. Broad. It is regretted that Nesbitt has so deoided, as full-back ia one of the most important positions on a football field, and this player is in every respect qualified to fill the position. J. Blinooe replaces Hargraves. The full teams are as follows : -
