ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.

On Tuesday night Patrick Smith, a man in the employ of Mr McGuiro, the contrac'or ( for the Belgrove section of the Midland Railr way, made a determined attempt to commit suicide. Smith was one of the most efficient of the men engaged in the construction of the tunnel through Spooner's Range, but it appears that he has been indulging a little | freely in drink, and that he met with a slight accident by which be sustained some injury [ to his shoulder.
