FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.

BUD OF PROMISE TENT, 1.0.8. The half-yearly Bnmmoned meeting of this Tent was held at the Tent room on Jan. sth, when there was a large attendance. The auditors' report and balance sheet were read and adopted, and showed the total funds amounted to £994 3s lid, being an increase for the whole year of £110. The sicb pay for the half year amounted to £46, the total for the whole year being £71 13a 43. Four new members bad been initiated during the half year, the membership now Btandirig at 93 benefit and 5 bononary members. The election of Dr. Gibbs as surgeon to the Tent was confirmed, after which the following offioera were duly installed by Bro. Milroy, P.O.R. :— C.R., Bro. D. Scott ; D.R., Bro. T. Brough ; Treasurer, Bro. J, Piper ; Secretary, Bro. W. Hunter ; Stewards, Bros. B. A. S. Ward and M. S. Smith; Levite, Bro. T. Ward ; Guard, Bro. W. Henry ; P.C.R., Bro. E. Kemp. The Superintendent's report of the juvenile branch showed steady progress was being made, the number on the roll being 33, and the funds amounted to £34 9s 2d. The officers for the ensuing half year are as follows :— C.R., Bro. I. Johnson ; D.R., Bro. T. Henry ; Secretary, D. MeGavin ; Levite, i L. Hey ward; Guard, Bro. H. Rowell. At the summoned meeting of the female branch Dr. Gibbs was unanimous y eleoted as surgeon. The auditors report and balance sheet showed the total funda amounted to £43 los 3d. No olaim for sick pay has baea made during the half yoar, the sick pay for tho whole year only amounting to £5 16s frd. During the half year three new members had been initiated.
