Owing to the amendment made by the House of Lords in the Directors Liability Bill, by which the liability of directors of public Companies has been increased, the measure has been abandoned. CONSTANTINOPLE, August 13. The Turkish Government has offered to give Albania a battalion of Infantry and a battery of Artillery to assist them in attacking the rebel Albanians. SYDNEY, August 14. The proposed labour demonstration which was to have been held on Saturday is postponed till next week, when it is expected there will be a bigger turn out of various labour bodies if a general strike takes place. It is probable that ten of the inter* colonial boats will be lad up on Monday unless the demands of ths Marine Officers Association are conceded. MELBOURNE, Ausust 14. The Shearers' Union have issued ft manifesto to the effect that in consequence of the Pastoralists' Unioa having declined to have any further dealings with the Union unless the sheep o .v::ors were allowed the option of employing Union or non-Union labour, there is nothing left but to fight the matter out to the end. At a meeting of delegates from the Pastor* alists', Shipowners', and Stevedores' Association, it was determined to make a firm stand. The stevedores' labourera are said to be wavering in theis determination not to handle the wool shorn by non-union men.
