in respect to the leading lines of h.Z. produce, we presume Canterbury snd Otago will, without doubt, bs accepted us likely to afford the best teat of values for export, and we find in both o! these cental that wheat is easy, 'growers shewiag a diiinclination to consign to Sydney under prssent conditions.1 Tuscan wheat is quoted 3s 7d to 3a 9d in Chriatohurck, and in Dunedin 8a lid to 4s Id for milling wheat (without enquiry.) In oats, however, the epurt given by the Melbourne quotations has tended to harden prices, though it can hardly b9 said to have actually affeoied the New Zealand market yet. Quotations are—Dunedin (which expects prices to go higher before tha end of the season) 2s 9d to 3g, and Christcharch 2s 7d to 2s lOcl. It must ba borne in mind tbat while the Melbourne market is aotiva lor oats, the Sydney is glutted and dull. In Auckland oats are quoted up to 3s 4d with good demand, and Wellington prices are also good, so that holders may consider themselves .safe anyway. Barley is dull, and slow of sals down Sooth at 3s 9d (Christohurch) and up to 3a lOd at ©unedin.

Potatoes seem to have receded somewhat, and are now quoted as follows :—Christohuroh (country stations) 50a; Dunedin, £i to £i 53 (fair demand); Auckland, £i 5g to £i 15s; Dairy prednes is dull, and down South the English markets are again being thought of. We notice that in Wanganui a lopal firm is giving a shilling alb for butter.
