CRICKET.
NELSON V. COLLEGE.
This match, which seemed to fall rathe? flat, possibly from the over dissipation in oricket of the previous day, was played on the College ground on Saturday afternoon. The result was a complete reversal of Friday's' play, the College running up a fine score of 120, and Nelson, 74 behind, haying to follow on. Ford (29) and Littlejohn (20) opened ■>■■-"} for the College, 48 rum being registered before Ford was dismissed by Bolton. Broad was again ' not out,' and played carefully and veil for 18, while Andrew contributed 14 by hard hitting. In the first innings of Nelson, Horton, who waß in fine form, clean bowled five men, and. his analysis, 5 wickets for 15 runs, is remarkably good. J. T. Harkness played a fine innings of 20. and opened in his second (16) by putting one of Horton's into Hatnpden street for 6. Wood made 9 and 19 by capital play, and Cooke, who was splendidly caught by Broad in his first innings, had placed 10 to his credit when time was called. It is only fair to the Nelson team to say that they batied and fielded with ten men, one player, true'to tbe traditi»ns of the Club, not putting iv an appearance. Subjoined are the eoores: — College.
