WAKATU BOATING CLUB.
The annual general meeting of members of this Club was held at the Trafalgar Hotel on Thursday, Sept. 30, Mr F. Trask in the chair. Mr A. B. Giblin, the Hon. Secretary, read the report and balance sheet, which showed the Club to be in a better financial position than it was last year. The Committee in their report mentioned that they considered that the thanks of the Club were due to those crews that took part in the different regattas last year, and so materially assisted the Club by their exertions. The following officers were appointed for the ensuing year :—President, Mr Albert Pitt; Vice-President, Mr Henry Cock; Captain, Mr F. Trask; Deputy Captain, Mr T. A. Askew; Treasurer, Mr F. Healy; Secretary, Mr A. Scott; Auditor, Mr J. Webster; General Committee : Messrs A. Giblin, E. Hale, J. Hart, W. Marri?, J. Scott, J. Stringer, and W. Wes.rupp. Messrs Hart and Westrnpp were appointed to act in conjunction with the Captain as a Match Commit'ee. It was decided to join with, the Nelson Club on Saturday next to open the boating season. It was also intimated that Mrs Pitt would kindly provide tea in the Club's shed on tho opening day for the members and their friends. A vote of thankg to the retiring officers and the Chairman brought the meeting to a close.
