T>HE object of this rompany is to A- provide insurance for all classes against injury or death from accidental causes at a moderate rate of premium. The lucrative nature of this business in other countries, as well as in this, is too well known to the public to require statistics. It mßy, however, be mentioned that the only office carrying on operations in New Zealand is paying dividends at the rate of 25 per cent per annum, besides increasing its reserve fund annually. Its shares, on which 2s each is paid up, are worth now 6s to 7?, this being oniy the fourth year of the Company's existence. It is the intention of the promoters to spread the shares over the whole of this Colony in order to broaden the basis of the Coinpiny, and extend its influence in all directions. Advantage may be taken to a very large extent of payment by commusion only, owing to the fact of the Secretary and. the Chief Agent being already connected with insurance business throughout the Colony. Their long experience has enabled them to form extensive connections among insurers of every class. Pursuant to the Life Insurarce Companies Act, 1873, the Bum of £5000 has to be deposited with the Public Trustee in New Zealand, in trust, for the Policy holders (bearing interest. It is scarcely necessary to point out the benefits to' be derived by the public from the general adoption of such means of self-help as are afforded by institutions of this nature. Applications for Shares will be received at the Offices of the Company j at the various Agencies of the Colonial Bank of New Zealand; also by Messrs SHARP & SONS, Brokers, Nelson* Art Union of London.
