MOTUEKA.

"■ ",(FEOM OUR OWN doBRESPONDBIJT.) , ; ;'. ' $he ' Motueka,' Horticultural ' Society's Autumn Show must be pronounced & decided' Success, especially considering the lateness of :the season ahd:bu'sy time of the year;! The attendance during, the afternoon was fair, and in the evening it was crowded, notwithstanding the counter attractions in the shape of a Christmas Tree for the benefit of St. Thomas' Church, and which realised over £16. The number of exhibits surprised even the Com-: mitte'e, the majority of which were of. excellent quality, the only exception being in the pot-plants; but this deficiency was made up to a certain extent by the excellent show of cut flowers, which far exceeded expectation. The Misses Guy showed a splendid collection of native plants. The exhibits of fruit and vegetables were both of excellent quality and numerous in quantity, and the apples shown by Mr Guy could scarcely be excelled; whilst some cucumbers shown by Mr T. Coleman were splendid, as also some vegetable marrows shown by Mr Geo. Cook. The potatoes shown were simplyperfection. Miss Fearon kindly provided a refreshment < stall for the benefit of the Society, and this together with the Christmas Tree was apparently well patronised. ; Below is the prize list:— " : Glass I.—Pot Plants.
