REELIZABETH CORRIGAN A BANKRUPT.
The adjourned meeting of the creditors of Mrs Corrigan, convened to consider the bankrupt's application for her discharge, took place on March sth, when there were present Messrs J. James, (who was voted to the cliair), D. Chisholm, andß. S. Chisholm' Mr Bunny was present on behalf of . the debtor, and Mr Scuife, the Trustee, was a!so in attendance. , ' The Trustee's report stated that the 1 liabilities of the bankrupt as shown by the lists filed amounted to £248 19s -lOd, but in reality proved to be £267 3s Id, of which £12 10s was claimed for rent, arid had to be paid. ; The assets, consisting of furniture, &c, were set down at .£SO, but proved worth only £34 • 17s. of which the debtor was entitled to an allowance, after deducting £5 for clothing- of £20. -Her friends purchased the balance of the estate for £14, and of this £12 10s was paid for rent, and 21s for valuation, thus leaving a balance ■of 9s to pay the solicitor's account, trustee's charges, &c. The trustee further reported that he did not consider the deb.Oi'rf failure to keep books a serious omission, and he added that at- a meeting of the; creditors to consider the debtor's application for discharge our creditors representing dL77 8a Sd attended and passed a resolution adjourning the meeting ior a month with the view of preventing the debtor obtaining her discharge until fche 4 had made some offer of a composition, as they were of opinion that her friends would be willing to assist h^r. At the adjourned mecti'ig Mrs Corrigan attended, and btated that* she was unable to make a composition of any k'nd, and denied having teemed £100 f oai anyone whatever It was then proposed by Mrß. S Chisholm, seconded by Mr 1). Chisholm, and carried, *' That the debtor's discharge ue suspended for twelve months from date."
