NEW ZEALAND CORN IN ENGLAND.

(From the Nem Zealand Herald.) ■ We have beeb favored by the recipient with tKe perusal of a letter written from London by a gentleman who, not loiig since, paid this Colony a visit. The following extract; wilt prove of interest to the agriculturist^ and also to the general reader:—^ ' . ; "London, March29,lßß2. I have arrived here after a favorable voyage, and in attending to my business during the last fortnight' I have gained some information which may be of interest to you and some of your friends. I have" brought home with me samples -of New Zealand wheat, and I find there is nothing to be compared with it offering from any quarter of the world. lam selling my cargoei at the very top price. I have been in communication with experts in the seed trade, aud, excellent as the quality of New Zealand wheat is, I am satisfied that even that may be much improved upon by using a change of seed. , lain shipping five or six varieties of hard Euseian red wheats to "Port Chalmers, and the experts assure me that, from the results obtained in other countries, they confidently expect that these wheats, acclimatised in New Zealand, will produce a sample finerthan anything known yet. Tbe superiority of the samples of New Zealand bats, barley, beans, and pea», over; those exhibited from any otbtr part of the world, is even more pronounced; than in tbe case of wheat; and people here listeu in amazement when I tell them that there are five or six million acres of land already opened up by roads and railways, and capable of producing such cereals, the owners of which have ploughed up and .laid it 'down in grass to produce wool."
