REIDENT MAGITRATE' COURT.

[Before 0. Cubtis, Esq., X.M.] James Goodman was charged witk ■wilfully damaging Corporation property. It was stated that on the previous night the defendant became intoxicated and behaved in a most extraordinary manner, smashing win-; dows at the Golden Fleece Hotel and two street lamp». The defendant was ordered to; pay the amount of damage done to the street lamps 5s 6d, and to pay a fine of 20s with costs, or in default to be impiisoned for 48 hours. The defendant went to gaol. DODSON AND NoRTHAM T. L. JAMES. Mr Percy Adams appeared for the plainiiffs who claimed £8, the amount of half a year's ■interest. Judgment went for the amount claimed, and costs £1 18s. . Cann v. C. Knight. In this case the plaintiff claimed £6 10s for a snit of clothes supplied. Mr Pitt appeared for the plaintiff, for whom judgment was given, with costs £117s. Scaife (Trustee in the Estate of Dr Monckton) v. Bbewer. T ( he plaintiff claimed £12 11s, the "amount of professional account, and obtained judgment, .with costs, £2 Is. :•; .; . ' W. Stallabd v. Jno. Abmsteong. Mr Percy Adams appeared for the plaintiff who claimed £2 18s for board and lodging. Judgment waa given for the plaintiff for £1 18s, with costs £1 Bs. There were a number of cases in which the City Council sued for rates, but all of thesa were g«ttl«d out of Court ox adjourned,
