NELSON COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS AND VOGEL PRIZES.
The result of the competition for the College scholarships is as follows :— . . ,,. Town Boys.—-(Free education at .Nelson College for two years)—(l) J. Balt'rop," jfirat division Town School, with 489 out of a jpos--1 Bible 600 marks; (2) W. Rose, first division Town school, with.429 marks.' "',' \ /Country Bots.—;(£4o per annum and (free education at Nelson College for two'years)"—,' (1) Ernest Hodgson, Upper Wakefield schobl, with 438 marks ; (2) John 'Terry, Westport school, wich 436 marks. The Vogel prizes, which it was agreed should be awarded to the two boys jwho came next to the four scholarship winners in order of merit, were won by—(i) A. Ledger, Biwaka school, with 381 marks ; (2) George Stone, first division Town school, with 372 marks. There were 20 competitors. The Blenheim scholarships were won by O'Leary (\\ Tindill (2); whilst the Vbgel prize, which was competed for by the girls attending the High School, was won by. Mary Bary. ;..
