Provisional Directors: Mr. Hoddee, I Mr. Babnicoat, Mr. F. Kelling, j Mr. Thompson, Mr. E. Gappeb. Manager: Secretary, pro. tern.: Mr. Hodder. This Company is formed for the purpose of dressing and sending to market, either in a raw or manufactured state, the native flax growing in the Waimea. Although no large areas of this valuable product any longer exist in the Waimea, it is still found in numberless detached beds in every direction, and in quantities abundantly large in the aggregate for the purposes of the Company. From inquiries, already made, there is no reason to anticipate any difficulty in making arrangements for procuring a regular, permanent, and sufficient supply from these sources. A few acres of land on which suitable premises may be erected, will suffice for the purposes of the Company; and arrangements have been made, for the occupation, under lease, of the mill site and waterpower belonging to. Mr. White—a situation at once central, accessible, and in every respect adapted to the wants of the Company. At the present price of the prepared flax, a handsome profit on the capital invested is confidently anticipated. . . ■ In the exercise of prudence and. caution at the commencement, it is proposed to work two flax machines only at present; but the operations of the Company will readily admit of extension, if hereafter deemed advisable. It is proposed to commence the works as soon as 400 shares are applied for. Applications for shares, accompanied by the proper deposit, may be made to the Secretary. FORM OF APPLICATION FOR SHARES.
